How to choose daily word games
Letter feedback and hidden words
Wordle asks you to identify a hidden five-letter word. Dartwords instead uses responses to your guesses to help you narrow a secret word. Read the individual guides before treating their feedback as interchangeable.
Word ladders with a fixed destination
Feetle and Poople give you a destination. Each intermediate word must be valid, so the puzzle is about building a route rather than uncovering an unknown answer.
Boards, swaps and connections
Waffle begins with letter tiles already on a board. Connections asks for four groups with exact links, while Layers combines mini-puzzles before a final grouping challenge.
