How community game rankings work

Community picks reflect choices made on Daily Games. They help you find daily games other visitors return to; they are not a measure of completed puzzles or worldwide popularity.

The seven-day score

For an eligible original daily game, the score is one point per unique contributor’s daily launch, three points per active save updated within seven days, and two points per current recommendation updated within seven days. Repeated launches of the same game by the same contributor on the same UTC day count once. A saved game can be removed and a recommendation withdrawn.

A simple example

Ten counted launches, four active saves and three recommendations produce 10 + (4 × 3) + (3 × 2) = 28. This is an explanation of the formula, not an example taken from real visitor data.

When a game receives a placement

A game needs at least five independent contributors during the window before a placement or aggregate counts are displayed. A first-party browser identifier deduplicates contributions from the same browser. These are contribution identifiers, not a verified count of individual people. New or quiet games remain unranked instead of being given invented numbers.

Where promotion is excluded

Direct launches, saves and recommendations attributed to the homepage featured game, editorial spotlights, related-game recommendations, the starter lineup or sponsored placements do not receive chart credit. The same exclusion follows the guide opened from that placement. A later ordinary discovery or return can count. There are no paid placements in the launch catalog.

What does not increase the score

Sharing a link, completing a local checklist, giving a guide helpfulness feedback, submitting a game or paying for something does not increase a game’s score. This keeps the incentive on useful discoveries rather than repeated sharing or unverified scores.

Eligibility, privacy and corrections

Only games currently marked as active daily games in our researched catalog can rank. Paused archives such as Originle are still discoverable but do not receive current chart placements. Activity-sharing choices, daily deduplication, request limits and moderation help reduce noise; this is not a claim that manipulation is impossible. You can stop contributing activity from Privacy.

The Playlin snapshot is a separate source

The dated Playlin 40 table is preserved as an external reference with its own measurement period and methodology. Its positions are not merged into the Daily Games score. The community feature follows our formula above. Read Playlin’s own policy.
