What is Bandle?

Bandle is a daily music game that asks you to recognize a song with as few instruments as possible. The developer’s description begins with drums, then bass and additional instruments.[1][3]

The official help says songs are recreated from scratch. You are recognizing an arrangement rather than simply identifying a snippet of the original recording.[2]

Our view is that this makes Bandle a test of musical structure. The part that usually sits behind a vocal can become your only clue. You may know the complete record extremely well and still need another layer before its rhythm and harmony line up in memory.

How to play Bandle

Press Play, listen, then search for a title and choose an answer. Wrong guesses or skips add another instrument and use a turn; the daily allows six.[4]

For a first listen, focus on the pulse and phrase length. On the next listen, try to imagine where a familiar vocal would enter. If that does not work, stop forcing the first association and listen for a new feature when the added part arrives.

Instrument layers, hints and artist feedback

Bandle can show hints such as release year. An orange miss means the artist is correct but the song is wrong. The official settings let you customize or hide hints.[2]

Our advice is to treat a correct-artist response as a narrower search space, not a near-win. Think about that artist’s songs with the same rhythmic feel or instrumental hook. A famous ballad by the right performer is still a weak candidate if the heard rhythm points somewhere else.

Bandle strategy: compare the parts you can actually hear

Build a short song list

Begin with a short candidate list rather than trying to name every song that shares a tempo. Ask what distinguishes the candidates: a bass movement, a repeating guitar accent, a break before the chorus, or the length of a melodic phrase. Then listen specifically for that difference.

Test a new layer against your candidates

Imagine an invented practice round with a steady beat and a two-note bass figure. Several songs may fit those clues. When a keyboard layer adds a distinctive rising phrase, compare your candidates against that phrase instead of protecting the first hunch. This is a listening exercise, not a description of today’s Bandle.

Listen with a specific purpose

Headphones may help you separate quiet parts, but volume is not a substitute for attention. A useful routine is one listen for rhythm, one for melody, then a decision. Repeating the same unresolved association many times can be less productive than accepting the next layer.

Daily Bandle, recent replays and song packs

Current official copy offers a free daily song and Past 7 Days. Missed days and some clues can require a video unlock or another entitlement; packs and ad removal have separate conditions.[2]

The Google Play listing confirms ads and in-app purchases and describes a daily challenge plus additional songs and bonus quizzes. Browser and mobile offers can change, so use the options displayed in the official game when choosing extra content.[3]

Sharing Bandle without revealing the song

The official Share action copies your result. Pack songs do not affect the daily streak.[2]

Compare the number of layers you needed and keep the artist, song title, lyrics and hummed hook out of the first message. A recognition puzzle can be spoiled by a tiny musical detail. Save the story of your wrong guesses for after everyone has had a turn.
